Malvern Hills Charity Walk: Supporting Farmer Mental Health

De Lacy team climb malvern hills for charity

In May, a group of us from De Lacy Executive took on a 14.3km walk across the full stretch of the Malvern Hills to raise money for We Are Farming Minds. The route covered all 17 peaks, starting at one end and finishing at the other.

It was a decent challenge. The distance itself wasn’t too daunting, but the constant climbs made it tougher than expected. We were lucky with the weather, and the views helped take our minds off the next ascent.

The team included Rupert, George, Ollie, Harry, Grace, Jon and Edward. We were dropped off at the start by our founder John Davies, who’s closely involved with the charity. Ellie and Lou from We Are Farming Minds joined us at the summit, which was a nice moment and a reminder of why we were doing it.

After finishing, we headed to a local pub for a drink and a catch-up. It was good to reflect on the day and the support we’d received.

We raised £1,235, beating our original target of £750. Thanks to everyone who donated, including GLW Feeds, Agritrade News, Hillsgreen, Farmers Weekly, Traction, Tithebarn, Blueline Media and Farms.com.

As platinum sponsors of We Are Farming Minds, we’re committed to supporting their work through fundraising and awareness. The walk was a small part of that, and we’ve got more planned.
