Soil Mapping Technician - East Anglia

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an agricultural business in East Anglia as a Soil Mapping Technician. Based in Norfolk and reporting to the Team Manager, the successful candidate will perform soil sampling either on foot or ATV using GPS as well as operational assistance when not sampling.
Applicants to this role must have a Full UK Driving Licence, ideally including trailer licence, and must be accustomed to working outside in all weathers. The ability to work alone and take responsibility for a vehicle and equipment is essential, as is a willingness to be trained in how to operate simple software in the field and complete paperwork accurately.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with customers either over the telephone or face to face, and will have a positive attitude toward work, colleagues and customers.
Applicants will ideally demonstrate previous experience in precision soil sampling, or related activates demonstrating transferrable skills.
Responsibilities
- Collection of samples and map fields as directed, adhering to sampling protocols and acting in a professional manner on farm.
- Participate with other operational activities when appropriate.
- Collect cropping details
- Liaise directly with the customer developing good working relationships.
- Deliver daily workload expectations along with customer service
- Ensure accurate paperwork is completed where required
- Maintain all vehicles to a high standard and ensure kept clean and tidy at all times.
Position Requirements
- Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence ideally with a trailer licence included
- Able to work outside in all conditions
- IT Literate
- Proven attention to detail in terms of completing paperwork
- Strong communication skills both over the phone and face to face
- Be able to build effective working relationships with both colleagues and customers
- Prior experience in a precision soil sampling role is preferred
