Build Your Reputation in UK Dairy Farming
This role is for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, leading people, and shaping services that genuinely make a difference to farmers and farming businesses.
We are working with one of the UK's most respected independent consultancies, providing trusted advice, data analysis and technical services to dairy and livestock businesses across the country.
As our client continues to grow its market-leading dairy costings service, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Commercial Manager to lead the next phase of development.
This is not a hard sales role. Instead, we are looking for a relationship-builder. Someone who enjoys understanding client needs, developing practical solutions, writing compelling proposals and seeing projects through to completion. Someone who values teamwork over individual targets and takes pride in delivering an exceptional client experience.
The Opportunity
You will take ownership of the highly regarded dairy costings service, leading a dedicated team while working closely with dairy farmers, agribusinesses and industry partners across the UK. You will help retain and grow existing accounts, identify new opportunities and support the continued development of the wider service portfolio.
Importantly, this role offers genuine visibility within the dairy sector. You will be encouraged to represent the business at industry events, contribute to technical articles, engage with key industry stakeholders and help shape the future direction of the business.
For the right individual, it provides a platform to build a recognised profile across the UK dairy industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading and developing a small team, ensuring the successful delivery of services to clients.
• Managing key commercial relationships and acting as a trusted partner to customers.
• Understanding customer requirements, developing proposals and overseeing projects from concept through to successful delivery
• Promoting wider services through customer meetings, industry events, conferences and presentations.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners to identify opportunities for service growth and enhancement
• Supporting the analysis and communication of industry data, trends and insights.
• Contributing to the strategic development of the business, as a member of the leadership team.
About You:
You may currently be working in dairy consultancy, account management, agricultural business development, livestock services or a commercial role within the wider agricultural sector.
Most importantly, you will be someone who combines commercial awareness with strong relationship management skills and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
• A strong understanding of dairy farming and the challenges facing modern farm businesses.
• A consultative approach to business development and customer relationships.
• The ability to understand and discuss farm financial performance and business data.
• Experience managing clients, projects or commercial accounts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare proposals, reports and technical content.
• A practical, hands-on mindset and the determination to deliver results from start to finish.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• A genuine team-first attitude.
What you can expect:
• A competitive salary, corresponding with experience.
• The opportunity to shape and grow the market-leading dairy costings service.
• The chance to build a recognised profile and reputation across the UK dairy industry.
• Hybrid working with a mix of office, home and customer-facing activity.
• Competitive salary package, pension and long-term career prospects.
Location
Based at our client’s head office near Glastonbury, Somerset, with hybrid working available and regular UK travel to meet customers and attend industry events
