Logistics Director – Integrated UK Agricultural Business

Reference: JN227

UK (national role)

You’re a senior logistics leader who understands the realities of live operations, tight timelines and welfare‑critical supply chains.

This is a chance to take ownership of UK‑wide logistics and transport operations within a large, integrated agricultural business playing a major role in UK food production.

This organisation is well established, respected in its sector and serious about becoming the industry-leader in operational standards.

The business takes animal welfare, safety and compliance just as seriously as performance and cost. The Logistics Director sits at the heart of all of that.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the role includes the planning and movement of livestock, feed, materials and products—making sure the right things get to the right place, at the right time, safely and compliantly.

You’ll be shaping strategy, but you’ll also be close to the operation, working day‑to‑day with farm, transport, catching, milling and processing teams to keep things running smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for:

Leading UK Logistics

Setting and delivering a clear, practical logistics strategy aligned with livestock flow and production plans

Improving routing, scheduling, fleet use and turnaround times

Working closely with operational teams to make sure plans translate into action

Transport, Welfare & Compliance

Owning compliance with UK legislation and assurance schemes

Ensuring transport, equipment and handling all meet welfare, biosecurity and H&S expectations

Driving improvements in efficiency, sustainability and resilience

People & Leadership

Leading and developing large, multi‑site logistics and operational teams

Setting clear standards and helping managers build strong teams beneath them

Creating a culture where accountability, welfare and performance go hand‑in‑hand

Health, Safety & Welfare

Championing a zero‑harm mindset for people and animals

Making sure health & safety is taken seriously across all logistics and catching activity

Leading investigations when incidents or near misses happen — and making sure lessons are learned

About You

You’ll bring senior leadership experience from agriculture or live animal logistics, with a strong understanding of the realities of moving livestock at scale.

You’re comfortable leading in fast‑moving, high‑risk environments and making decisions when the pressure is on. You know how to balance welfare, compliance, cost and performance — and you’re credible with regulators, site teams and senior stakeholders alike.

You’ll likely have:

A strong background in live haul, catching operations and welfare standards

Solid knowledge of UK transport and fleet compliance

Experience leading large, geographically spread teams

A commercial mindset with a practical approach to cost control

A calm, confident leadership style that earns respect on the ground

What’s On Offer

A highly competitive senior‑level salary

Bonus and executive benefits package
