Cheshire - HybridWe are seeking a Buyer to join a leading manufacturer of livestock feed products.
As the company's main Buyer, you will take ownership of supplier relationships, negotiate competitive pricing, control purchasing costs, and ensure a reliable supply of raw materials to support manufacturing operations. This is a role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact, influencing procurement strategy and delivering tangible cost savings across the business.
Previous procurement experience is essential, however our client is open to considering a junior Buyer looking to take the next step in their career. With the right support and development, this role offers an excellent opportunity to progress into a position with greater responsibility and autonomy.
We're looking for someone who is commercially aware, confident communicating with suppliers, and capable of building strong relationships while negotiating favourable terms. Role Overview
- Source and purchase raw materials and other business-critical inputs.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements.
- Manage supplier relationships and support the development of new supply partners.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and supply risks.
- Work closely with production and supply chain teams to ensure continuity of supply.
- Maintain purchasing records, analyse costs, and identify savings opportunities.
- Support inventory management while balancing stock availability and working capital.
- Ensure suppliers comply with required quality, technical, and regulatory standards.
About You
- Previous purchasing/procurement experience
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
- Confident managing supplier relationships and commercial discussions.
- Highly organised with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
