Agricultural Haulage Manager/Driver - Hertfordshire - HP045

This role is for an experienced HGV driver who wants to put their expertise to use in a managerial position and reduce their time behind the wheel.

As Haulage Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team of HGV drivers, coordinating their workload, organising logistics and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Around half of your time will be spent in the office planning logistics, speaking to customers, managing staff, ensuring vehicles are maintained and associated administration is up to date. The rest of your time will be spent driving, including providing holiday cover and chipping in where required.

My client specialises in agricultural haulage, transporting machinery, grain, bales, building materials, etc on behalf of an established farming customer base – an agricultural background would be highly advantageous.

 The role:

• Manage HGV drivers: Assign workload, support, training, disciplinary
• Oversee logistics and planning
• Liaise with haulage customers
• Drive HGV when required
• Ensure a high standard of health and safety
• Organise vehicle maintenance with inhouse mechanic
• Vehicle admin
• Generate haulage quotes

About you/Requirements:

• HGV licence
• Communication skills
• Dynamic and adaptable
• Organised and able to adhere to deadlines
• Agricultural background (Desirable)
• Management experience (Desirable)
