Regulatory Affairs Manager - Animal Nutrition

A Regulatory Affairs Manager is required by our client, a leading global supplier of fine chemicals to the feed, food, pharmaceutical and personal care industries.
The role will be a part of the European regulatory team and there will be additional compliance duties in the UK. There will be an opportunity to build specialist knowledge in specified product sectors affecting Europe and the UK.
Key responsibilities/tasks will include:
- Maintaining a high degree of regulatory knowledge relating to the production and marketing of animal feed and human feed.
- Specialist knowledge in animal nutrition would be preferred.
- Interpreting regulatory developments and their impact on the business.
- Active involvement in relevant trade associations to ensure that the company's view is heard
- Regular contact with National and European regulatory authorities.
- Regulatory support for the authorisation and on-going compliance of defined products.
- Assuming a leadership role for defined regulatory topics of relevance to the company's activities, in partnership with other members of the European team.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance of the animal feed premix plants in the British Isles.
- Provide training and support to business managers and technical support staff.
- Provide regulatory support to key customers.
Applicant Requirements:
Travel within the UK and Europe from a midlands base, including periods away from home will be expected.
Ideally, candidates will be graduates with at least five years' experience in the feed and / or food additive sector. Candidates should, ideally, have a thorough knowledge of the feed and / or food industries and the regulatory control of those industries. Experience in commercial or technical support roles would be advantageous in order to understand the context of developing regulatory controls.
Candidates must demonstrate effective prioritisation skills, being customer focused and excellent communication skills and influencing skills.
