UK Commercial Team Lead - Bovine Genetics
Reference: JN228
UK - Nationwide
This is not a desk bound National Sales Manager role. If your idea of commercial leadership is being pulled into endless HR processes, performance paperwork and internal administration, this role will feel refreshingly different.
Here, you are trusted to do what you do best; sell, build relationships in the field, and support your team commercially, with administrative, finance and logistics infrastructure already in place to support you.
Be the driving force in the UK for this leading international player in bovine genetics.
The opportunity:
Reporting to the International Regional Sales Manager, you will have full commercial responsibility for the UK business, leading a team of seven experienced Business Development Managers located across the UK’s key dairy regions.
You will spend most of your time with customers and alongside your BDMs, allowing you to focus on:
• Driving sales performance
• Strengthening farmer relationships
• Coaching and developing your team through hands on leadership
Key responsibilities:
• Lead, motivate and support a geographically dispersed team of Business Development Managers, with a strong emphasis on coaching in the field rather than managing from a distance.
• Work directly with key dairy farmer customers and strategic accounts, maintaining personal credibility and market presence.
• Drive UK sales performance in line with Europeaninternational commercial strategy.
• Support individual and regional development plans for BDMs, focusing on commercial skills, market understanding and account growth.
• Act as the commercial voice of the UK business, feeding market insight and opportunity back into senior management.
• Represent the company externally at industry events, dairy meetings and customer forums.
Your profile:
You will be an established and credible commercial professional within the dairy sector, comfortable operating at farmer level while leading others.
You are likely to bring:
• A proven track record of sales success within bovine genetics or a closely related agricultural sector.
• Demonstrable experience selling directly to dairy farmers and building long term, trust based relationships.
• Experience of leading and developing a remote, field based sales team, with a practical, supportive leadership style
• Strong commercial judgement, able to balance strategy with execution
• A preference for being visible in the market, rather than managing via spreadsheets and internal meetings
What you can expect:
• Home based role with regular/daily UK travel
• Competitive salary with performance related bonus
• Company vehicle or car allowance
• Pension and benefits package
