Woodland Trust
Woodland Trust is the largest woodland conservation charity within the UK. Woodland Trust is a leader in the protection of trees and woods and campaigns to protect woods and restore damaged and threatened forests. Woodland Trust, with help from schools, organisations, communities, and individuals, creates new woodlands throughout the UK. The charity also aims to get individuals to not only visit woods but also to help in the planting of trees and ensuring that the public fully treasures and enjoys all of the benefits of their forests.
Woodland Trust has restored hundreds of ancient woodlands and has also created thousands of hectares including 250 community woods. Woodland Trust was founded in 1972 and remains at the forefront, fighting to plant, restore, and protect UK woodlands. The average European country is 37% covered by trees, but in the UK this number is only 13%, and Woodland Trust has a goal of increasing this number dramatically.
