The Carp Society
With over 1800 carp anglers joining in the first year of the Carp Society's existence in 1981, by 1993 membership had grown enough to make the Carp Society the largest specialist-angling organisation in Europe. The goal of the organization was and still is to promote and develop carp angling, which over the past 40 years has now developed into a prominent branch of angling. The facilities at Horseshoe Lake are unrivaled in the industry, and the Carp Society's fisheries are also among the best in the United Kingdom.
The Society runs three lakes, the most prominent being Horseshoe Lake which has a stock of great fish. The Society offers Junior Carp Camps and an Adult Master Class, as well as the Winter Show which is a very successful and popular carp event. The Carp Society also helps with the politics of angling and consults government bodies.
