Our well established client specialises in the recycling of nutrient rich liquid organic materials from Food, Drinks and Digestate Industries to agricultural land throughout England and Wales. They are experiencing rapid growth in organics recycling and also in the development of Anaerobic Digesters.

They are looking to appoint a Technical Advisor to ensure the business has technical support and advice to secure new business and provide documents, information and data returns to comply with existing and new permits

Role & Responsibilities

  • Close liaison with the Environmental Compliance Manager & Head of Dept on all aspects of land spreading, Health and Safety and Environmental Management within the department
  • Provide technical support to Heads of Department and Farm Liaison Managers on spreading activities and new storage contingencies
  • Act as point of contact with the Environment Agency locally as deployment lead.
  • Provide technical input to
  • I.Contracts spreading to land
  • II.Digestate contracts to land
  • III.A.D processes
  • Ensuring that Environmental deployments, bespoke permit applications and requests for further information are carried out within the relevant timescale
  • Prepare updates on progress on deployments and permit applications/variations
  • Keep permit documents up to date and provide technical reviews of compliance reports from the EA
  • Manage the companies waste acceptance procedure
  • Ensure soil and waste samples are taken and processed in a timely way.
  • Liaison with laboratory ref. sampling results
  • Collate weekly data on digestate levels and production
  • Ensure the Company is up-to-date on the latest government environmental regulations and guidance, as well as any new policies.
  • Manage the environmental complaints process in line with permit requirements
  • Ensure timely data returns in line with permit and customers' requirements
  • Prepare the weekly reports on spreading activities
  • Support internal and external audits and inspections, preparing information as required
  • Be available for the 'on call' rota

Candidate Requirements

  • FACTS Qualified
  • WAMITAB qualifications highly desirable
  • Highly motivated with the ability to lead a team
  • Excellent organisational skill
  • Attention to detail and process
  • Willingness to travel as the job requires
  • Flexible to the needs of the business
  • Good IT skills
  • Current knowledge of Waste Regulations / Land spreading regulations
  • Full UK driver's license (Clean)

Remuneration Package:

Competitive salary dependant on experience
