Our client, a leader in New Zealand’s fresh produce sector, is looking for an experienced Agronomist to manage 250 hectares of salad and vegetable crops. This role offers the chance to refine growing practices, enhance operational efficiencies, and contribute to industry discussions at a national level.

Based on the East Coast of the North Island, on the coast surrounded by mountains and nature, this landscape is a unique place to live and work. Whether you have direct experience of growing salad vegetables or a wider career across agronomy, this is a chance to expand your horizons personally and professionally.

The client is a fully accredited SSE employer in partnership with New Zealand Immigration.

 

The Role:

• Walking 250ha of crops, including lettuce and processing crops

• Overseeing crop production and operational decisions, including variety selection and rotation

• Driving both agronomic and commercial success

• Contributing to industry discussions and national policy

• Becoming part of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of fresh produce in New Zealand

 

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven success in fresh produce agronomy or leading trials

• Strong technical expertise in crop production

• BASIS and/or FACTS (preferred but not essential)

• Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
