Forestry Production Manager- NW England - LH400

This Industry shaping rural estate have recently embarked on an exciting new phase of development in their already highly successful business.

As Forestry Production Manager you will be focused on leading all aspects of production and operations on the site whilst ensuring the business grows healthily whilst sticking to its sustainable values.

Significant investment has been put into building a state of the art timber processing facility which will operate to the highest standards whilst keeping true to its promise of only using sustainably sourced timber grown locally within the estate. Day to day operational activities will include sawmilling, joinery, firewood and biomass as well as working towards developing new product lines and launching to market.

You do not need to come from a forestry based background although that would be advantageous, this role would suit someone with a strong commercial acumen and excellent leadership skills who still likes to walk around in muddy boots!

You will need:

• To be able to demonstrate strong leadership/team management skills.

• Prior experience of budgeting with P&L responsibility.

• Experience in managing production/manufacturer of a product.

• A “hands on” over “hands off” approach- this is not a desk job!

• Experience within the UK forestry sector would be extremely advantageous.
