Centre Manager - World Horse Welfare - V002
World Horse Welfare is an international charity that improves the lives of horses in the UK and around the world through education, campaigning and hands-on care. We work across the UK with horses, horse owners, the veterinary profession, sport bodies, law enforcement and government to promote and protect the welfare of horses. Our four rescue and rehoming centres provide horses in need with urgent and specialist care. Once their rehabilitation is complete, we aim to rehome them in a loving new home through our rehoming scheme.
We are currently looking to recruit a Centre Manager to be responsible for the management of our rescue and rehabilitation centre Penny Farm and its very busy visitor centre attraction. You will be required to ensure that Penny Farm is an outstanding example of good practice in the equine world, rehabilitates and rehomes the equines in the farm with maximum efficiency and work closely with our head office in Norfolk to develop World Horse Welfare's profile in the local and wider community. Penny Farm can accommodate 65 horses and has a team of 13 staff across the farm, visitor centre and maintenance teams.
The successful applicant will have extensive management experience in a busy equine environment and be able to demonstrate the ability to handle and work a wide range of equines including youngsters and problem horses. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be an exceptional communicator and have outstanding organisational skills especially when working under pressure. BHSII/ Stage 4 Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship or an equivalent qualification or above would be extremely advantageous.
The Centre Manager is required to live on-site and free family on-site accommodation is provided.
