Executive Search and Selection
De Lacy Executive is the specialist recruitment consultancy in the Agriculture and Horticulture, Food, Environment, and Equine/Pet business sectors and the Land Based Business sector in general.
This is what De Lacy Executive offers to you:
Experience and Knowledge
Founded in 2000 De Lacy is a team of nine professional consultants committed to exceeding the expectations of those with whom we work. Our agribusiness and food credentials are second to none. Largely agricultural and food graduates, seven of the team are the offspring of farmers and six of us have worked in the agricultural supply trade as well as in farming and food.
We have many years of experience recruiting for vacancies in this specialist sector, using our market knowledge to find the best candidate, not waiting for candidates to come to us!! Good candidates are in very short supply - we know where they are and how to reach them.
Our recruitment experience and competencies extend from graduate trainee to managing director, and from sales, through technical, new product development, quality, supply chain, marketing, operations, logistics and production to R & D managers.
Recruiting of all levels and disciplines
We recruit for all grades of executive staff from trainee to managing director and from all disciplines from sales and marketing to technical, operations and international estate management.
Our clients range from global corporations to regional and private SMEs in Europe, Africa, Australasia and North America. We are sensitive to the "candidate fit" issues for different types of enterprises and business cultures.
Not an agency
We are a consultancy not an agency, so we do not simply circulate CVs. Instead we add value through proactively sourcing the very best candidates available and providing advice on the selection process and the suitability of candidates. We also act as ambassadors for our clients to encourage candidates to apply.
We play an active and advisory role throughout the whole search and selection process up to and including the offer stage. We will not "sell" inappropriate candidates to clients nor will we inundate clients with inappropriate CVs. We interview and provide succinct reports on all appropriate candidates with the "pros and cons" of their candidacy plus candidate feedback after client interviews. We will manage the negotiation phase and continue to oversee and manage the process to resignation and ultimately to the first day of employment.
We have three principal methods of identifying candidates: firstly we start with a search of our own 30,000 strong database of candidates; secondly we implement an executive search ("head hunt"); and finally we complement both of these, as required, with internet advertising, via our website and a network of internet sites which we have built up over the years, and, possibly, press advertising campaigns.
Where the utmost business confidentiality and discretion is required we excel - we source and select candidates without a whisper in the market place. We operate with integrity. De Lacy Executive is approved as a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, which oversees the UK's recruitment industry (REC Membership Number: 00082047) and is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under the Data Protection Act.
Our fees are based upon an agreed percentage of the candidate's starting salary. We recognise the challenge of appointing the right person and so we offer a refund scale should a candidate prove unsatisfactory. We do not charge for incidental costs (e.g. travelling, subsistence) incurred in the course of the search. We supply a contract of engagement so that you know exactly what to expect from us.

"Thanks for your time and for your inspirational advice when I just wasn't too sure."
I personally would like to thank yourself and John at De Lacy for your fantastic help and assistance in securing my recent position found by De Lacy. Your extra counselling prior to my interview was of great benefit and was truly 'beyond the call of duty..!'
Again convey my thanks to the team at De Lacy,
"Taking that next step whether forced or unforced requires careful consideration, it requires objective thought and reasoned debate to ensure the right expectations are set both for both candidate and future employer.
Scoping your ability and skills as a candidate takes time and is reliant upon asking the right questions, the most valuable being those you cannot define alone; how you are, how you feel, your needs and aspirations are part of a quality mix that can be both attractive and unattractive at the same time. Candidates require careful preparation and encouragement to perform at their best because after all an interview is just a snap shot, for both candidates and employers alike, after all there is mutual risk in this futuristic step where there is much to be gained but more to be lost.
Delacy understand this critical path to success and the importance of coaching candidates and employers alike through a process of preparation in an imperfect market.
