Position Overview

Generally speaking, feed specialists are in charge of marketing and educating consumers on the company's various feed products that are available. In the agriculture industry, this will relate to feed products that exist for different types of livestock. They must promote the business and display the benefits of each feed type. They are responsible for the different products that the company generates and how to attain maximum value for each. Individuals in this position should understand the agriculture industry and be knowledgeable regarding animal nutrition. They should be forward thinkers to understand possible consumer trends or needs that could occur in the future. Depending on the company, they may focus on ingredient procurement, coordinating operations at the feed mill, handling feed orders, or overseeing feed inventories.

Feed Specialist Duties
