DESCRIPTION:
Rare pig industry opportunity with excellent future career progression available.
We are currently seeking a veterinary surgeon with pig and/or large animal experience to join an industry leading technical team. This position offers wide exposure to the pig industry - from clinical pig veterinary medicine and animal production through to food safety and animal welfare. There will also be the opportunity for involvement in wide ranging projects: from genetics, feed trials, evaluation of new medications and vaccines, through to looking at wider ranging pig industry issues. There will also be the opportunity to become involved in the management of the team in the future. Ongoing CPD will be very actively encouraged and supported.
Requirements:
MRCVS - Veterinary degree registered with RCVS
Several years experience of pig veterinary medicine would be ideal - if not then experience in large animal/farm animal veterinary practice would also be acceptable (as training and support can be given as required)
Sound technical knowledge
Personable team player
Good communicator both oral and written
Management skills or team management experience would be helpful but is not essential.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally abroad.
