J3205 REGIONAL SALES MANAGER – SOUTH AND SOUTH WEST

ANIMAL HEALTH AND NUTRITION

A Regional Sales Manager is sought for the south, south midlands and south west of England. This new post has been created as a result of significant sales growth in our clients business. The role is suited to enthusiastic and energetic sales professionals who aspire to man management in a fast growing, innovative and dynamic animal health business. The ability to motivate, train and support an agent network will be essential. The ability to grow the regions’ sales ledger is only limited by the ability to ‘get in front of enough customers each day’ – rather than by the competition. There is an exceptionally high re-order rate by customers because the products are so successful.

As a key member of the management team, you will report to and liaise closely with the National Sales Manager. As Regional Sales Manager, you will also need to form close lateral relationships with your fellow RSMs.

Your primary role will be to drive the business forward in your region of responsibility through the successful implementation of company policy towards commercial management and strategy. This will involve a considerable degree of personal input into the formulation of the regional sales strategy.

You will also be responsible for the recruitment, training and appraisal of all agents within your region of responsibility. Developing and managing agent’s personal development plans will form part of this process.

The main responsibilities can be categorised under two broad headings, Regional management and Company Management team duties.

Regional Management

* Develop annual regional sales budget

* Achieve regional objectives as agreed with the Managing Director

* Provide verbal and written reports on regional activity

* Recruit, train and appraise sales agents against agreed performance parameters

* Develop agents personal development plans

* Provide field sales support in the form of accompanied farm visits (not less than 4 dual calling days per agent per year)

* Manage discipline of day to day activity of Sales agents

* Organise/Attend National/local agricultural shows

* Organise regular sales meetings with ATMs and sales agents (not less than 4 per year)

* Provide/organise adequate sales cover in vacant sales areas to maintain a high degree of customer maintenance and service

Management team duties

* Attend/contribute to monthly management team meetings

* Attend/contribute to monthly 1-2-1 business review meetings with the National Sales Manager

* Uphold the company’s core values at all times (a copy is available on request)

* Protect the customer base from competition

As part of the management structure, you will be expected to discharge your duties with enthusiasm and care in order to help the company to achieve its greater national objectives.

REMUNERATION:

A very competitive salary, performance related bonus and contributory pension scheme are offered to successful applicants.

Home based in the south midlands, south and south west counties.
